Levi’s is a brand that needs no introduction. As the worldwide leaders in denim, they need no introduction. The team over at Heddels visited the Levi’s Archive Vault in San Francisco.
The Levi’s archives there house thousands of items from the brand’s nearly 150 year history including jeans and apparel, marketing materials, textile samples, packaging, promotional items, and much more. The red tab’s reproduction line, Levi’s Vintage Clothing, draws upon numerous vintage pieces in the archive to make their seasonal collection. Heddel’s explored the design office and archives to preview the current Spring/Summer 16 line that takes inspiration from the Levi’s company baseball team, “Elesco” (a phonetic pronunciation of “L.S.&Co.”). Elesco games date back to 1886, and Senior Designer Paul O’Neill based this collection upon a single photograph of the company team from 1913.
The motivation to run comes from within. Sometimes it is just your music and the road that keeps you focused on the next step. There’s something very reassuring about seeing the landscape fall away after traveling for miles on foot. For Cory Wharton-Malcolm, who started running ten years ago and is now lead coach of the Nike+ Run Club in London (and founder of TrackMafia), it was this self-motivation that led him to work his way up to running his first marathon. In this this short film, directed by David Ryle , he shares his scenic running route and his internal monologue while doing so. His sneaker of choice for the journey is the new LunarFly Epic Trainer.

The 24/7 media landscape is shrinking the world of music and culture. What that means for artists is that their fans can literally be anywhere in the world. Grime made big strides internationally last year with the likes of Skepta finally breaking through internationally in a big way.

The collective behind EYES&SINS has created a new video showcasing some of the current Guerrilla Group gear. PTP head honcho GENG provides the soundscape for this atmospheric visual. The details and specifications of the items are brought into clear view in the short clip. For more on the collection, check out the editorial from the current collection.
C.E brings new light to it’s spring/summer 2016 collection with an eye-catching video shot using 4k drone footage. The clip is voyeuristic in nature and pieces together aerial shots and surveillance type camera work. The soundtrack sounds like it’s straight out of a black mirror episode and the fast paced editing is a good accompaniment to the layered collage graphics often employed by the brand.
Sophnet puts out a flashy video previewing it’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection. We saw some of it previously in this SENSE editorial. Fast editing and neon lights are an effective counter to the eye-catching pieces in this collection set to drop online on January 30.
Adidas seems intent on continuing it’s momentum in 2016. The German-based sneaker company saw strong growth with its Adidas Originals brand through the release of hit sneakers like the NMD and Ultra Boost. This short campaign video for it’s SS16 offerings is entitled ‘Your Future is Not Mine’. The clip is a fast moving dystopian film, referencing such themes as millennial’s reliance on social media and technology. The film also reflects Adida’s shifting focus away from just Sports and into the use of influencers and celebrities to push units.
