Wacko Maria is quickly becoming one of my favorite emerging Japanese labels. When I seen the Wacko Marias clothes I see the influence of brands like Fuct, WTAPS, and Neighborhood but the brand does have a DNA that is very much it’s own. GRIND Magazine brought these Spring/Summer 2014 pieces to life with an editorial that’s has a strong cinematic look and feel.
SS14
Undercover SS15 Collection
While it’s a little early to really start planning purchases for next summer, it’s always exciting for me to see what UC puts out each season. Now that the brand has so many seasons to pull from the design team can mix and match themes and concepts from previous seasons and incorporate them in new ways. You see many of these UC signatures in this collection: large-print graphics (this time courtesy of the influential 70’s rock band Television) novel prints, screen-printed branding and a familiar punk rock proportions (think razor sharp and skinny distressed denim with rider jackets and coats). Standouts are the statement wool hats, printed bomber and rainy-day outerwear. To me this collection is a continuation of the similar ideas and cuts from the pyscho candy but mixed in with some of the mod influence from the UC Neoboy/Poptone collection.
Adidas x Rick Owens SS14 Tech Runner
Adidas and Rick Owens team up again on their second collaborative sneaker model the Tech Runner. The first release was a love it or hate it affair and it looks like the same will hold true this time. Inspiration this time around comes via the B-2 Stealth Bomber, and you can see these angular lines … Read more
Nike Sportswear 2014 Spring/Summer Tech Pack
One of my favorite purchases of 2013 were the two pairs of Nike Tech Fleece Sweatpants I got. To me they represented that sought after middle-ground been comfort, practicality and design. For Spring/Summer 2014 brings a new tech pack for men and women centered around the Tech Hyperfuse technology. In laymans terms this technology gives the fabric the combined benefits of being lightweight, breathable , and packable in a stripped down minimal aesthetic. The lineup includes windbreakers, vests and ponchos and is currently available exclusively through Nike.com. While I generally don’t like the HDR’ed appearance of many sports lookbooks, the execution of this particular campaign stands above the competition in my mind. Expect to see the gear hit select NSW retailers on May 1.

GRIND x WTAPS Spring 2014 Editorial
Stalwart men’s publication GRIND Magazine shoots pieces from WTAPS Spring/Summer collection. Love the gritty candid style of photography here. The styling is no fuss as well, as it’s a straight up interpretation of streetwear staple.
Check out the entire editorial after the jump and visit WTAPS for a full list of stockists.

C.E SS14 Lookbook
C.E (Cav Empt) just released a lookbook for their Spring/Summer 2014 collection. The lookbook is done in the same visual style as this previously released video. Fans of the Japanese label may recognize some of the pieces which have already released, but it is nice to see select pieces styled together in these stills. Having had experience with several pieces of line I definitely highly recommend any of the graphic hoodies and crewnecks. The quality of printing found on the digitial sublimation T-shirts (such as the Burnbike or Gunpizz t-shirts) and button down shirts is top notch as well. You can shop the collection through C.E Directly or through North American stockists VFILES, Bdga, Wildstyle LA and RSVP Gallery.

Best Items from Supreme SS14
Supreme Team Taped Seam Jacket
February brings us a preview of the Spring/Summer 2014 Supreme collection. It’s almost become ritual for fans of the brand to obsess over the item previews as they are released each season. While I did not really enjoy most of the graphic-heavy items from the collection, I did pick out some gems that I think are worth purchasing from the collection. Having followed the brand for so many years, I generally gravitate towards the pieces that are a bit more understated in terms of branding. I tried to select a mix of items that were my favorite from the collection.
You can view the whole collection preview and lookbook at Supreme. The collection will be available this Thursday , Feb 20th at Supreme in New York and LA. See my selections after the jump

C.E SS14 Collection Video
C.E (CAVEMPT) has just released a video showcasing items from their Spring/Summer 2014 collection. The visual features a variety of cropped detail shots of the pieces in slow motion.
