C.E (CAVEMPT) Fall/Winter 2015 Lookbook

Though pieces from the FW15 collection from C.E have been floating around for over a month now, the Tokyo based streetwear label dropped a new lookbook to showcase items from the collection. Shot against a utilitarian brick background that recalls some of the ziggurat designs present in the line, the new lookbook runs through the usual assortment of hoodies, outerwear , accessories and pants that C.E has been come to known. The collection is a quite colorful for a cold weather season and is modeled by legendary electronic music producer Joy Orbison. Check it out after the jump and shop items on C.E or Bodega.

GRIND London FW15 ‘Anywhere Always’ Lookbook

GRIND London continues to deliver another season of strong streetwear basics. While the label doesn’t stray far from the formula of graphic tees, hoodies and crewnecks of most streetwear labels, it’s nice to see a different set of references being used as the basis of the brand’s look and feel.  The lookbook for the FW15 season is shot by photographer Vicky Grout and features casually styled looks with a with an array of button-downs, tees and caps/beanies.

WTAPS FW15 Collection Lookbook Ex.31

While almost all men’s brands purposefully or inadvertently borrow from military aesthetics, WTAPS has been one of the best doing it for decades. WTAPS head Tetsu Nishiyama has successfully kept the brand relevant and expanded it into an international force. The latest collection is dubbed “EX.31″ (in commemoration if the 31st season) and it re-visits some key pieces from the brand’s history. The staples are mostly here from the hefty crewnecks to jungle BDUs and the classic M-65. There’s new stuff too including a collaboration with Carrhartt. A refreshing change up is how the lookbook features mostly baggier cuts of denim and pants.

This collection should strike a good balance between pieces for long-time WTAPS fans and newer entrants into the label.

Look for pieces to roll out on stockists such as HAVEN and End Clothing.

Victim FW15 Lookbook

Japan tends to incubate some of the strangest brand names in fashion. Despite the negative connotations of the name, Victim is putting out some solid stuff this fall/winter. The choice of model is definitely channeling a laid back young Keanu vibe. While some of the looks definitely have a vintage bohemian feel, the overall effect is clean and modern. Smart layering combined with some nicely made outerwear pieces make Victim a brand you should keep on your radar for future seasons.

Visvim FW15 Collection

I had the pleasure of seeing the FW15 collection up-close when their showroom was setup in New York. The collection came about as a result of head designer’s Hiroki Nakamura’s travels through the United States, Italy and Europe. You can expect a host of fire outerwear including a great iteration on the MA-1 and a field jacket covered in vintage-style patches, not to the mention the Noragi inspired by bomber jackets.

While the pricepoint may have you saving for a few months, the creatively layered looks from the collection should tide you over. Look for stockists including Farfetch and End Clothing to get a hold of these pieces outside of Asia.

Guerilla Group SS15 ‘End of Secrecy’ Lookbook & Campaign

I’ve been watching the evolution of GFIRMG since the the creative team’s first foray into accessories with Silent Whisper. Since then the line has expanded from just accessories, to the t-shirt focused EYES&SINS to what is now the fullest expression of GFIRMG’s capabilities – Guerrilla Group. The new season once again draws from familiar sources – obscure action and sci-fi films, video games and anime but re-configures them in unexpected new ways. The Spring/Summer 2015 collection is entitled ‘The End of Secrecy’ and is a take on how the age of digital surveillance and  expanded technological capability have presented the greatest affront yet to nature and man’s place within it.

This is all heavy stuff for a clothing line to express but luckily, the development in concept has also resulted in a leveling up of the functionality of the garments. The new line includes the use of custom synthesized fabrics, EAGLETEX® and ECOYA®, that are laminated and post processed with Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating for adaptation of various environments, adding to overall mobility and versatility. Even simple stalwarts like the coaches jacket and cargo pants are reimagined with little details altered and customized. Graphics have also played a huge role in GFIRMG’s past designs and once again feature prominently here. Not all items have been released online as of yet but a small selection has already been put up for sale through the GG site.

The North Face Purple Label SS15 Lookbook

The North Face Purple Label has evolved into what the regular North Face brand would be in an utopian American Society. The Japan sub-brand is understated, lightly branded and has a practical slim cut that still allows for layering. Select items are available for both men and women. On the men’s side, the outerwear once again steals the show with a clean color palette of beiges, navy, white and charcoal. There’s also splashes of color with olive green , orange and a really great rainforest print. The styling is easy to emulate for those who really want to buy into the brands look. For those who don’t want to splash out on some of the more standout jackets and coats, there’s plenty of basics (shirting, trousers, turtlenecks) and accessories (check the Bell hat featured in a few looks) to help you fill gaps in your wardrobe.

Oh lastly, I also have to give a shoutout to whoever casts these female models for North Face Purple Label’s shoots, as they definitely killed it again with another girl who’s waifu status. Anyway click through to see all the looks from the spring/summer 2015 season and check the official site for more info on the entire range

Sasquatchfabrix SS15 Lookbook

Sasquatchfabrix is a really hard brand to describe to people.  To call the label ‘eclectic’ would be an understatement. Sasquatchfabrix is able to mesh really varied influences and inspirations into products that feel fresh each season. Spring/Summer 2015 is another strong showing; this time with a focus on re-interpreting of traditional Japanese garments. There’s alot of prints used and the looks alternate between baggy, volumes pants and oversized/jackets and shirting. While layering in collections often feels forced , here the fabrics look light enough that wearing a few of these pieces would be more than just a fashion statement but an exercise in comfort as well.

Phenomenon SS15 Lookbook

Tokyo based label Phenomenon releases this lookbook to promote it’s spring/summer 2015 collection. The brand has always been identified with it’s over the top takes on streetwear and while it retains it’s wild streak, the Japanese brand has become more refined since it’s beginnings. There’s still tons of details in most of the garments in here, a MA-1 sleeve pocket on a stadium jacket? Check. Severely ripped up denim? Check. Overall though I really did enjoy the photography here and the use of regular people over traditional models. The whole lookbook feels more like a page out of Tune Magazine, and in that regard it’s successful. I can also grant Phenomenon of pairing mens and womenswear together in some of the lookbook shots in a way that isn’t cheesy or overwrought.
