While the on-going collaboration between Fred Perry and Raf Simons has not really broke new ground in it’s product offering, there are always a few gems in each collection. For Autumn/Winter 2013, Raf once again visits Mod culture (think checkerboard shirts) and mashes it against American collegiate wear (varsity jackets w/ chenille letters). The presentation is nicely done with Pierre Debusscherre behind the lens with styling by Robbie Spencer (fashion director at Dazed & Confused). Keeping with the line’s inspirations the location of this shoots Hippodrome de Boitsfort ( a former racecourse in Brussels built in 1875).

My personal favorites are the electric blue duffle coat, the knit polo and the burgundy varsity. Take a look at the rest of the collection after the jump.

Neighborhood doesn’t deviate far from its brand DNA for it’s fall/winter 2013 collection. In recent years the brand has shed some of it’s youth-driven streetwear image and has perused a more refined aesthetic rooted in workwear, motorcycle culture and Americana. Head designer Shinsuke Takizawa always has a great eye for creating memorable lookbooks and this definitely ranks up there as one of my favorites from the Japanese label. The photography is done in a style that references periods from the 1940s to the 1970s. You’ll be sure to find some incredible pieces amongst the selection of Shearling Jackets, Chore coats and denim.

Visvim continues  themes established over the past year for their Fall/Winter 2013 collection. The collection is styled with plenty of layering and tons of accessories, a continuation on the aesthetics of their Spring/Summer 2013. Some key items that return in fine form are the FBT and knit cowichan. I also have to give a shoutout to the amazing shearling coats in this lookbook. While this collection doesn’t break new ground for Visvim, it does re-iterate some of the recent strengths of the brand and offers a look at some staple investment pieces that can be worn for years to come.

Uniform Experiment makes really really good versions of wardrobe staples. The Japanese label might not revolutionize the game, but you can always expect them elevate basics such as oxfords, cable-knit sweaters and casual blazers to the next level. The narrative of the video is pretty simple, imagine an guys night out minus the Jager bombs. The whole thing comes across feeling pretty damn cinematic and the music isn’t half bad either.

You can find Uniform Experiment at Haven.

FACTOTUM (try saying that out loud three times) put out this lookbook for their Fall/Winter 2013/14 collection. The head designer  Koji Udo is evidently a big fan of literary legend Charles Bukowski (to which he owes the brand name). Bukowski is also the source of inspiration for this collection. Bukowski’s book ‘Post Office’ informs this collection and there are visible elements from both American and British post office uniforms worked into the range. The key symbol for this is the bald eagle which finds itself on many of the pieces.

The simple styling makes this collection quite approachable without being boring. The outwear and knitwear pieces do steal the spotlight as the pants here tend to be quite minimal. There’s a mix of cropped jackets/bombers and longer cardigans/overcoats and even a few Budweiser-inspired  flips. This lookbook definitely provides solid visual inspiration for those looking to stay stylishly low-key this fall.  If you’re not familiar with the brand and like what you see here I recommend you go through their lookbook archives HERE

Honeyee released this smoke-filled editorial featuring select looks from the Undercover FW13 collection which we previously posted HERE. I get a Robert Smith vibe off the styling here. It’s always nice when collections are more displayed a bit more creatively through editorials as opposed to look books  Standout pieces are the ribcage sweater/cardigan combo, the plaid wool suit and the red wool overcoat. If you’re having a depressing 2013, picking up some pieces from UC Fall/Winter 2013 should make you feel a bit better about yourself just be ready to shell out.

Do you remember smoking weed, drinking beer, eating Doritos and playing N64 in your high school friend’s basement? Highland presented guests of their FW13 collection with an experience that was quite similar to those carefree days of youth. The set was littered with bongs, snacks, a PBR beer pyramid and shag carpeting and admist the chaos were models donning the collection of jackets, sweaters, branded t-shirts and jeans. The interactive presentation was a reflection of the brand’s approach, smartly and subversively using the wasteland of American suburbia as a platform for refined streetwear. While Highland make not be a household name in the US menswear market yet, this presentation exemplified how the brand is quickly building  steady buzz in New York.
