After a brief quiet spell, EYES & SINS returns with an immaculate outerwear line ‘PROTOTYPE-ZERO / 零式’.
The small range is a logical evolution from the graphic tees released in the past. The line once again draws inspiration from military items, utilizing details such as buckles/fasteners and multifunctional compartments that contribute to both the form and functionality of the garments.
This is an impressive first foray into more elaborate items from the GFIRMG family. The 「14F-ES-JM01」RE-REPRODUCTION 01 BOMBER (see the Third Looks Best MA-1 Feature) has some great details including Articular sleeves, darting/stitching details and numberous functional zippers and pockets that should help users carry around daily essentials. Also of note is the 「14F-ES-AV01」ENGRAM MULTI-CHAMBER
which operates as a vest with multiple Pockets / compartments.
Three of the items are available now online with more to drop soon. Looking forward to seeing more on the trench and pants in the collection personally. I’m excited to see the GFIRMG team transition from leather goods to graphic tees and now a full fledged cohesive collection.

Nexus VII and Stussy have teamed up for a capsule collection entitled ‘Rainy Dayz’. Previous collaborations between the two labels have resulted in some awesome outerwear and this joint venture follows in that pedigree. This gore-tex shell is a pullover-style combined with a fishtail design. Other key design elements include sleeve snap button pocket, waist snap button pockets and contrast braided drawstrings. The piece comes in purple and black but it appears the black version has already completely sold out online.

Techwear often comes down to features and this duffle coat from Stone Island Shadow Project has all the bases covered to get you through many a winter. Even if you don’t get the opportunity to field test this piece in the harshest of conditions, you’ll quickly notice the unique wool fabric on PW3 which is a waterproof wool fabric with 3 composite layers. Without getting bogged down in details what that means is that you’ll stay warm and dry without overheating thanks to the breathable membrane in between you and the outer shell.
You can get it at Haven but it’ll set you back $1150.

Select womens and men’s pieces can be seen in the short clip. As always ACRONYM has come strong with a host of features on the garments and a slick visual presentation.

Zomby supplies the music and Errolson Hugh runs through the technical details of the Fall/Winter 2012 ACRONYM collection in this fast-paced video entitled ‘Acronymjutsu’. Dressing like a futurist hitman has never looked better.
Errolson Hugh brings it with this fantastic Fall/Winter collection of Acronym. Above are my picks from the FW12 collection. While I have never had the fortune of owning any ACR myself, I have always been impressed by any items I’ve seen or handled in person. I have the utmost respect for the no compromises approach that the brand embodies. Be sure to also check out the womenswear line that somehow fulfills all my otaku sci-fi babe fantasies without venturing into cosplay territory.
These photos barely do these items justice so do yourself a favor and play around on the Acronym website where there are close-up shots of garment details showcasing the versatility and practicality of each item.
My interest in techwear has definitely increased in recent months. Menswear has become quite stale in my opinion and I have come to appreciate the few brands that strive to innovate both in design and function.
Despite the questionable brand name, I am not too familar with Fingercroxx but came across this video of their FW2011 collection and enjoyed the presentation of it. I am always partial to ‘video game’ style lookbooks and this video is no exception. I can’t vouch for the quality of the garments but I’ll be sure to look out for their product in the near future
