Givenchy Pre-Fall 2013 Lookbook

This Pre-Fall 2013 collection sticks with the tried and true Givenchy formula, on display is an assortment of shirting, bombers, argyle knits and trousers. What Givenchy has really come to be known for are the prints and this collection delivers in that department with a new Doberman print (following up on the success of the Rottweiler collections) and a HDG monogram (Hubert de Givenchy). Also notable is the numbered neoprene Pervert shirt which is giving me flashbacks to the Les Plus Dores fashion team shirts.

I’m sure that these new items will fly off shelves when they hit stores next year. In related news Givenchy head designer Riccardo Tisci was named GQ’s Designer of the Year.

Tetsu Nishiyama (or TET for short) is the founder and creative director of Japanese streetwear label WTAPS. Belief is a Moscow men’s shop that carries stock from mostly Japanese streetwear labels including EFFECTOR, MAGICAL DESIGN, MEDICOM TOY, NEIGHBORHOOD, OriginalFake, RATS, WACKO MARIA, WTAPS and WOLF’S HEAD.  The interview results from a conversation between the shop and Tets, touching on Mr.Nishiyama’s guiding principles in design and brand communication. The interview also explains TET’s involvement with Ursus Bape.

Below is an exerept from the interview

I wonder how you came to name brand WTAPS and what does it mean?

Before WTAPS there was FPAR (FORTY PERCENTS AGAINST RIGHTS), my original product. FPAR was not only focused on apparel though, but on other creativities as well. At some point I felt like I want to concentrate more on apparel and fashion. So, I called the 2nd brand WTAPS. This is a military term, as you may know, and it means “the second shot always finishes it”. “W” means “twice”. So, WTAPS was my 2nd challenge.

November Tokyo Streetstyle Selections

I’m constantly inspired by the style of strangers on the streets of New York. But when I’m online I like to take a look at what’s occurring in far off lands and Japanese streetstyle has long been my favorite. I would say that Japanese streetstyle blogs really emphasize brand-mixing and celebrating a personalized look. Here … Read more
