While copping gear is one of my favorite things to do, there’s nothing like witnessing a fantastic DJ set accompanied by powerful visuals and a worthy soundsystem. In that regard, the DWMS series has always stood tall as a highlight in New York City’s underground music scene.
Veteran UK Funky/Grime don Champion (Formula/Hyperdub), by way of London, will make his long-awaited appearance in NYC a reality. Rap upstarts Gorgeous Children (VASE/PTP) also return to the city for their second-ever live show here – 1/2 of GC, Gila Monsta, will also play a DJ set. R3LL (Brick Bandits) will cover any thirst for Jersey Club, while Joey Labeija (House of LaBeija) and False Witness (Lit City Trax) will kill with their patented dancefloor mutations in rare B2B fashion.
Third Looks is giving you a chance to get in for FREE:
1. Cop a DWMS shirt (white / black) from the PTP Garment District
2. Type “DWMS6” in the Notes section of the Paypal check-out
You will be put on a special list for Friday.
Come through and mob heavy with some of New York’s finest.”

Rome Fortune
I took a couple snaps from the Devil Want My Soul Party DJed by none other than Geng Grizzly and Mista Whoa. Really incredible vibe and it was nice to get a room full of people who really knew rap, instead of people who just pretend to (you know who you are). It was one of the most memorable nights for me thus far this year. The ESPN Highlight of the Night was the performance by Atlanta’s own ‘Beautiful Pimp’ Rome Fortune.
Look out for another party with the camp soon. In other news I’ll be appearing on-air tomorrow night (Thursday, Mar 21) on Fresh Out the Box Radio. You can tune in on BBOX Radio. The show goes from 7:30 to 9:30PM and as always expect hijinks and great new rap.

I felt lucky to be part of the 2012 Opening Ceremony Holiday party and see all these familiar faces. I’ve been friends with some of the staff since I first moved to New York and it brings me great pride to see everyone celebrating in the same room. Until the next one, enjoy these snaps of the event.

Evan
Large Professor
Motherboard is basically a tech website about how the future is super scary but also potentially amazing. A good example of the site’s style is this recent post on drones. The site recently underwent a complete re-design and to celebrate VICE threw a party.
The party was at a pretty random location in the financial district. The real highlight of the night for me was to see Rza perform. After Large Professor got the crowd moving , Rza came in and shut it down. He put on a spirited set going through Wu classics such as Gravel Pit and ended off on ODB’s “Shimmy Shimmy Ya”. It was a fun night and it was great to see RZA poppin bottles on stage rocking the crowd with just a mic and a DJ.

Happy Birthday Opening Ceremony! from Opening Ceremony on Vimeo.
A very happy 10th birthday to Opening Ceremony. They have upheld downtown New York culture for a decade now and show no signs of slowing down. I was lucky enough to attend the birthday bash at Webster Hall and it was more than just a fashion week party; it was a heartfelt nostalgic reminder to years past. Humberto and Carol have built an empire upon the dreams they had growing up, I’m so proud to see them living them out on a daily basis.
Above is a video featuring some of the OC homeboys and homegirls and everyone looks estatic. Heres to Opening Ceremony and another incredible decade of history-making.

Fool’s Gold Records is bringing a stacked lineup to City Winery in New York for their 2nd annual Fools Gold Day Off. Danny Brown, Nick Catchdubs, Flosstradamus French Montana , Flatbush Zombies and Just Blaze are among the names performing. If last years event was any indication, expect some surprise guests and a turnt up crowd. Best part about the event is that it’s absolutely free.
