Dominate SS18 Lookbook

I previously covered Dominate Jakarta, announcing it as one of the most exciting brands coming out of Indonesia. The team at Dominate is back for a Spring/Summer 2018 offering , releasing a lookbook that draws inspiration from different musical movements. The focus this time around shifts from the 70’s punk seditionairies movement as well as reggae music. Ā These musical influence is sprinkled throughout the collection itself which also focuses Ā on outerwear, graphic T-shirts, long-sleeve crewnecks and printed button-down shirts. My personal favorite item from the collection is the khaki and olive Ā nylon pullover. For more info on the products check out their Instagram. Click through for more images.

Stone Island Shadow Project SS18 Lookbook

As Shadow Project continues to distinct itself from mainline Stone Island, the SS18 collection brings one of the brightest, most colorful collections yet. Ā The label has taken inspiration from two central ideals for the season ā€œexpression through removalā€ and ā€œopacity and transparency.ā€ Certainly these appear throughout pieces in the line. This appears in the form of repeated print patterns and thin breataable fabrics. These includeĀ durable NASLAN as well as LUCID FLOCK, a translucent and ultra lightweight nylon material. Ā My personal favorite is the purple iridescent parka which is sure to catch looks. Look for the collection available at Stockists including END and Farfetch.

HELIOT EMIL Fall/Winter 2018

Heliot Emil debuted a great show as part ofĀ Copenhagen Fashion Week. While Copenhagen might not be an established fashion capital as the likes of Paris, London or New York, the line has channeled something both familiar and novel with the Fall/Winter 2018 show. The show features both male and female models wearing the monochromatic, minimal items.

Dubbed ā€˜Intended Consequences,ā€™ designer Julius Juul took cues from the French expression ā€œLā€™appel du videā€ ā€” ā€œthe call of the voidā€ ā€” which touches on the attraction of undermining oneā€™s own self. Indeed, the ā€œfeeling of intentionally wanting negative impacts,ā€ according to the brand, inspired both the technical fabric choices and simplistic color palette. Fabrics in the collection include a heat sensitive blend that changes color from black to white. The styling is another strong point with strong military and streetwear influences set alongside more subversive tailored looks.

Explore Ā the collection further with a 360 degree immersive video that was released by the label.
