Stone Island Shadow Project provides a video accompaniment to it’s Fall Winter 2016 collection. The production quickly cycles through the different looks featuring sweaters, hoodies, tees, jumpers and technical hard-shells. The video quickly flashes through the elements and provides a closer look at some of the innovative details/features on various garments. Perhaps trailblazer sci-fi author William Gibson described this clip best in his tweet “That Stone Island Shadow Project video that @erlsn just tweeted is as Neuromancery as anything I’ve seen”.
Arco Maher has a ton of Stone Island. The collection spans over 160 pieces. Dazed put together a short clip to showcase some of his best pieces. The clip, titled The New Paninaro, presents a new Arco Maher lookbook and features appearances from James Magee, Tia O’Donell, Luke Storey and Kesang Ball. The visual is accompanied by a soundtrack by by Jesse James Solomon, whose other work can be heard here. If you’re a fan of the Italian sportswear label, consider this a must watch.
Stone Island is one of my go-to labels for fall weather. This olive textured crewneck blends the comfort of cotton with the substantial feel of a knit. This crewneck uses textured cotton mix jersey fabric and features two concealed press stud fastening welt pockets. Now that it’s sweatshirt season , you’ll be hard to go wrong with any of the crewneck styles from the Italian stalwart label. Find this and other Stone Island styles over at Mainline Menswear.

Perpetual techwear favorite Shadow Project is back with another directional collection. The fall collection utilizes over-dyed textiles that pull from the expert techniques of the parent brand Stone Island. All the winter outerwear bases are covered from bubble-goose jackets and insulated bombers to parkas and vests. There’s a heavy emphasis on zippers, pockets and practical details. The best iteration of this idea in the collection is a jacket with a large front zip-out pocket (large enough to store a laptop or other electronics).

Shadow Project is home to some of Stone Island’s most progressive designs. The spring/summer 2016 collection will appeal to long-time Stone Island fans as well as guys looking to add a solid technical piece into their current wardrobe . The spring/summer 2016 is laced with an array of color options outside of the usual black, white and grey. Some of my favorite pieces include the Anorak, the cargo pants and the long shirting. Graphic tees and a slip-on sneaker round out the selection.
Check the rest of the collection after the jump and look for it to release online soon.

Great brands are able to build more than just a following , they inspire whole communities of supporters. Stone Island has been a technical wear stalwart for decades now but recent seasons from the mainline have made me want to invest in a ton of their recent pieces. Think of Shadow Project as a more tech oriented branch of the label with designs by Errolson Hugh. This dramatic detail oriented video shows off some of pieces in the collection. There’s alot of little touches in the collection that set apart these items, for example the Crewneck ribbed sweater is made in a special yarn with a nylon down core covered in fine cotton yarn. Check the collection direction online through the Stone Island store.
There are pieces that are sensible additions to any wardrobe, and there’s showcase pieces that you have to find a way to make work. This one of the latter. This incredible vest from Stone Island has too many features to list here. The key things to know are that it’s down filled and sheepskin shearling lined. , The material, is a proprietary a reflective water and wind resistant polyester fabric owing its features to a coating made of thousands of glass microspheres.
An opaque black plating totally covers the refraction of the material which can be seen when light bounces off it (think camera flashes). If you ever get to the point of wearing this monster in, it’s going to slowly change the impact of the reflections over time. Basically this is an incredible grail vest from Stone Island but you might not want to wear it around any airports.
