New Nike Air Force Mid Colorways

Nike is starting the year strong by re-issuing it’s classic Air Force One Mid in five clean new color ways. The monochromatic uppers are complimented by reflective heel tabs and rolled edges on the uppers. Each pair features a re-designed midsole that makes the sneaker lighter than regular Forces and also includes an upgraded insole. You may remember black and white versions of the sneaker dropping last year under the label of the CMFT pack (comfort). Having owned the black ones for some time, I can vouch for the leather being a step ahead of what Nike usually offers.

The Vachetta Tan colorway of these drop this Saturday January 9 online and at Nike Lab locations. Look for  black, red, white, obsidian navy in the coming weeks. Click through to see all of the colors of the sneaker.

Among the other highlight items are the long-sleeved Sweatmap shirt and the Aeroloft vest, stuffed with 800-fill down. Also worth noting are a pair of running gloves.

Nike Air Max 95 Sneakerboot

Nike has continued to experiment with their iconic sneaker models. Last year Nike brought out many variations of the Air Max 95 , transitioning it from a runner into a mid-cut sneakerboot. This year the Air Max 95 gets modified with the addition of a front-facing zipper and sock liner. The sneaker also benefits from a modified more rugged outsole and comes in either a murdered out triple black colorway or a tonal army olive. You can scoop these online from Foot Patrol or direct from the Nike Store.

ACRONYM x Nike Lunar Force 1

(image via 032c)

ACRONYM and Nike Lab are set to release one of the most polarizing sneakers of the year. This is quite an extreme makeover on the iconic Air Force 1 shiloutte. If it looks like a zipper was haphazardly placed onto a regular Lunar Force body, it’s because that was the intention. In a recent interview with 032c, ACRONYM designer Errolson Hugh admitted that once the decision was made to add a functional zip to the sneaker, they were unapologetic about the changes.

There’s nothing subtle about it.  You can immediately see the original design and the new parts that are stuck on. It’s an intervention It’s very unapologetic, and I think it was pretty ballsy of Nike to let us do it.

The sneakers themselves will come in three colorways, a simple black suede/leather iteration. A mainly white model with a a dipped infared-colored heel panel and a pretty crazy multi-color sneaker. The sneakers retail for $200 USD and will be dropping this Thursday, September 17 at online at Nike Lab, Oki-Ni, END Clothing and other retailers.  Click through to see close up photos of the sneakers and also a short conceptual video highlighting the collab that focuses on surveillance.

OVO Jordan X Release

Since the photos first surfaced online, the OVO Jordan X has been one of the most anticipated sneakers of the year. A clean tonal design with stingray detailing and a OVO gold tinged Jumpman and custom box make these stand out amongst the dozens of Jordan releases each month. Drake stans and resellers will be out in full force trying to get this limited release so here’s a full list of shops releasing these after the jump (most of them are require entry through a raffle system however).

I wouldn’t be surprised if these have a Saturday release online so be sure to be posted on Nike.com as well.

Nike Air Max 90 / Air Huarache Utility

Nike has become very strong at creating new technology and infusing it into their classic models. In recent years, techniques such as flyknit and hyperfuse have found their way onto countless Nike models. For the Holdiay 2015 season, Nike is finessing the ever-popular Air Max 90 and Air Huarache. Air max heads will note the changes to the midsole and the new traction outsole of theses sneaker. I selected to feature out my favorite colorways from the pack, but more are available to browse and pre-order over at Atmos.  If you liked the stripped down modern look of the ‘patch’ series of Air Maxes, these are a good follow-up. Look for these to drop in late September at select NSW accounts.
