GRIND Magazine Sacai SS18 Editorial

GRIND Magazine hit up actor and all-around fit god Yōsuke Kubozuka to model a selection of items from Sacai’s SS18 range. The collection mixes in streetwear influenced looks alongside some tailored pieces. One of the collection’s signature pieces is an all over print parka. Other items include denim and workwear-esque boots done in collaboration with Gender Scheme. There’s also more grown-up pieces in the range, such as a boucle oversized blazer and a white shirt with safety-pin detailing. Look for items online at Mr.Porter, Farfetch and other outlets.

Another part of the on-going collab between Junya and British outerwear maker Karrimor, this coat is a longer version of the backpack design we’ve seen previously. Gucci Off-White ‘Gucci Cube’ Rhyton Sneakers

The bulky designer sneaker thing is literally everywhere this season and of course Gucci isn’t missing out on the trend. Gucci is experiencing huge growth for many reasons, it’s a favorite amongst the Hollywood/celebrity elite and their designs are distinctively gaudy in a way that stands out in today’s market. Their entrance into the sneaker category this season however is carefully balanced between luxury branding and minimal design. These leather low tops are featured a Logo flag at padded tongue and a padded collar for comfort. The Gucci Logo stamp is delivered in glittered gold-tone and the usual stripes in red and green printed at outer side. These will set you back  a pretty penny but for the ballers out there, the stunt factor alone may be worth it.

Available at SSENSE

Stone Island Shadow Project SS18 Lookbook

As Shadow Project continues to distinct itself from mainline Stone Island, the SS18 collection brings one of the brightest, most colorful collections yet.  The label has taken inspiration from two central ideals for the season “expression through removal” and “opacity and transparency.” Certainly these appear throughout pieces in the line. This appears in the form of repeated print patterns and thin breataable fabrics. These include durable NASLAN as well as LUCID FLOCK, a translucent and ultra lightweight nylon material.  My personal favorite is the purple iridescent parka which is sure to catch looks. Look for the collection available at Stockists including END and Farfetch.

HELIOT EMIL Fall/Winter 2018

Heliot Emil debuted a great show as part of Copenhagen Fashion Week. While Copenhagen might not be an established fashion capital as the likes of Paris, London or New York, the line has channeled something both familiar and novel with the Fall/Winter 2018 show. The show features both male and female models wearing the monochromatic, minimal items.

Dubbed ‘Intended Consequences,’ designer Julius Juul took cues from the French expression “L’appel du vide” — “the call of the void” — which touches on the attraction of undermining one’s own self. Indeed, the “feeling of intentionally wanting negative impacts,” according to the brand, inspired both the technical fabric choices and simplistic color palette. Fabrics in the collection include a heat sensitive blend that changes color from black to white. The styling is another strong point with strong military and streetwear influences set alongside more subversive tailored looks.

Explore  the collection further with a 360 degree immersive video that was released by the label.

EYES & SINS SS18 Lookbook

The Guerrilla Group team presents a lookbook for their new SS18 collection. The ‘EYES&SINS’ range offers up the usual mix of tech-oriented items along with their takes on standard streetwear. The range shows a new denim jacket, various screen-printed t-shirts, hoodies and spring weight water-resistant jackets. The presentation of the lookbook itself takes inspiration from Netflix shows, stylized similar to show previews on the streaming service, as well as giving off a movie poster feel in some of the imagery. The name of the collection ‘Runaway Heroes’ also ties into this overall theme, expect items to appear directly on the GG webshop over the course of the season.
