Souvenir jackets have had a surge in popularity since the movie drive was released. Plenty of Japanese labels have done their own variation on the style and of course there are plenty of excellent vintage options that you can find on eBay. Unused is a japanese label that puts a modern spin and fit on vintage. Their take on this style is noticably minimal, there’s no back graphic or stitching, just a tasteful cropped fit and a reversible style that let’s you switch from a more contrasted black/white ribbed style to a more incognito murdered out version. 100% rayon construction and knit collar and cuffs round out what make for an excellent piece. The MA-1 bomber as a fall/winter time staple for guys seems to show no sign of stopping. A major beneficiary of this has been Alpha Industries who offer one of the best bang for the buck versions on the market. While their traditional product line mainly consists of authentic reproductions of military classics, they have also branched out into more adventurous and fashionable takes on items. Alpha is planning on releasing white and baby blue MA-1s for SS16, as well as a elongated trench-length version of the bomber. Nike is starting the year strong by re-issuing it’s classic Air Force One Mid in five clean new color ways. The monochromatic uppers are complimented by reflective heel tabs and rolled edges on the uppers. Each pair features a re-designed midsole that makes the sneaker lighter than regular Forces and also includes an upgraded insole. You may remember black and white versions of the sneaker dropping last year under the label of the CMFT pack (comfort). Having owned the black ones for some time, I can vouch for the leather being a step ahead of what Nike usually offers.
