Cav Empt (C.E) FW17 Lookbook

Back with another collection the team at Cav Empt released their Fall/Winter 2017 lookbook today. While the spring/summer collection had a club and rave theme, this one takes a more pedestrian approach to showing the clothes. The photography is reminiscent of street style focused with what appear to be street cast models. As for the clothes themselves, the full range of bombers, parkas, sweats, hoodies, graphic tees and even bags are represented. Longtime fans of the label will have plenty to choose from with both heavily graphic items as well as simpler tonal or textured items. Look for items out already on the CAVEMPT website or stockiest like SJS.

HUMAN MADE FW17 Lookbook

Nigo is back with a cold weather collection for his Human Made brand. The label really focuses on vintage fabrications and nostalgic Americana. The pieces really have to be seen up close to be fully appreciated but they’re on display here on models who aren’t Nigo for once. Some key items include a burger themed souvenir, flannels and down items. Distribution for Human Made is still quite limited but END and IDOl are good bets.

TAKAHIROMIYASHITA The Soloist SS18

Takahiro Miyashita named his spring/summer collection  “Femme Fatale Fellow”. The idea behind the collection was to design the clothes that his dream woman would want to see him in. There is definitely a dark romantic air about this collection with Miyashita returning to his all-time muses – western clothes and rock n’ roll.

There is a also lot of Number (N)ine influence I see in the collection , in particular references from the ‘Noir’ collection. Perhaps Miyashita has returned to his archives to bring back some design concepts. In particular the cowboy shirts and blazers look particularly familiar. Another throwback comes with the homage to the late Kurt Cobain with the “We will always love you Kurt” text embellished onto the back portion of many garments.

The user can choose from matte/shiny, organic/man-made and flat/structured pieces.   Also making an appearance are the monochromatic “Ghost” pieces based on camouflage concepts finished with unique laminating processes. Another key innovation is  a “Frost Finish” treatment that make the surfaces of knits and outwear appear frosted; and Thermosensitive materials that change patterns and colors with variations in temperature.  If you’re a fan of Stone Island there is tons to look forward this winter season.
