TAKAHIROMIYASHITA The Soloist SS18

Takahiro Miyashita named his spring/summer collection  “Femme Fatale Fellow”. The idea behind the collection was to design the clothes that his dream woman would want to see him in. There is definitely a dark romantic air about this collection with Miyashita returning to his all-time muses – western clothes and rock n’ roll.

There is a also lot of Number (N)ine influence I see in the collection , in particular references from the ‘Noir’ collection. Perhaps Miyashita has returned to his archives to bring back some design concepts. In particular the cowboy shirts and blazers look particularly familiar. Another throwback comes with the homage to the late Kurt Cobain with the “We will always love you Kurt” text embellished onto the back portion of many garments.

Stone Island Fall/Winter 2017

For Fall/Winter 2017, Stone Island chose to focuses on textiles .The label brings back fabrics from the brand’s extensive archive. As always there’s a huge mix of color and textures. The user can choose from matte/shiny, organic/man-made and flat/structured pieces.   Also making an appearance are the monochromatic “Ghost” pieces based on camouflage concepts finished with unique laminating processes. Another key innovation is  a “Frost Finish” treatment that make the surfaces of knits and outwear appear frosted; and Thermosensitive materials that change patterns and colors with variations in temperature.  If you’re a fan of Stone Island there is tons to look forward this winter season.

EYES & SINS FW16 THE SLEĆŽPER

Fans of Guerrilla Group’s offerings have been patiently waiting for the latest EYES&SINS collection from the collective. The FW16 collection is here and entitled THE SLEĆŽPER. The collection takes inspiration from a little known cold war Soviet clandestine operation explained on their site. The actual pieces themselves once again extend the mix of techwear and militarism we’ve gotten to know. Some of the more interesting pieces including  beefed up winter noragi and also a technical apron piece similar to what you might see welder’s use.

While a couple pieces have been spotted on the site for sale, expect the entire collection to be available later tonight on the GFIRMG site.

Supreme x Undercover FW16 Loobook and Collection

Undercover returns this season for a second round of collaborations with Supreme. The line this year is even more expansive than last years selection. The typical selection of branded typographic graphics is back along with some suprises (a doc martin boot, supreme GILApple and a reversible bomber). Graphic zip and pullover hoodies, tees, an all over coaches jacke,  bondage pant and a wool coat are some of the other options available this time around.  While the fit and production looks to come from Supreme, expect the line to sell out immediately regardless. Personally I think this collection is a step up from last years, and I have a feeling we might see this become a yearly thing similar to the CdG x Supreme capsules. Whether it’s worth the resell pricing or the hassle is up to you.

The collection will be available at Supreme’s in-store locations in New York, Los Angles, London, Paris, as well as its online store from September 22. Japan will see a September 24 launch date.

Stone Island Shadow Project FW16 Lookbook

Perpetual techwear favorite Shadow Project is back with another directional collection. The fall collection utilizes over-dyed textiles that pull from the expert techniques of the parent brand Stone Island. All the winter outerwear bases are covered from bubble-goose jackets and insulated bombers to parkas and vests. There’s a heavy emphasis on zippers, pockets and practical details. The best iteration of this idea in the collection is a jacket with a large front zip-out pocket (large enough to store a laptop or other electronics).

More after the jump and you can find the collection at the usual stockists END and Oki-Ni.

Nanamica FW16 Lookbook

Nanamica always puts out one of my favorite loobooks each season. Remember wearing North Face in high school? I feel like Nanamica is the grad school version of that look. You have the reassurance of proper technical features when it comes to the elements but the label also combines it with relaxed tailoring and great fabrics. If you want something versatile that you can work to work and on vacation, it’s hard to beat Nanamica.

Shop the selection on their site and through retailers like END and SJS.
