While 2019 was a flurry of collaborations and high profile releases, it seems that Jordan brand is going back to their archives with some of the releases this year. With the classic Jordan 1 becoming one of the most sought after retros in recent years, it’s nice to see that Jordan Brand is paying homage to the original with this release. The shape of this model is the closest to date we’ve gotten to the original ’85 classic. This flipped variation plays off the classic ‘Black/Red’ colorway seen on the banned Jordan 1s. The sneaker has gone to great lengths to preserve the feeling of the original, even re-creating the hang tags that was featured on the sneakers upon their original release. Jordan brand had to go back to their archives to find the original photo of MJ in order to recreate the look of that paper tag. These are sure to be high sought after and even more so considering their release is limited to a mere 23,000 pairs. Look for more release details to leak prior to their release in February.
