Souvenir jackets have had a surge in popularity since the movie drive was released. Plenty of Japanese labels have done their own variation on the style and of course there are plenty of excellent vintage options that you can find on eBay.  Unused is a japanese label that puts a modern spin and fit on vintage. Their take on this style is noticably minimal, there’s no back graphic or stitching, just a tasteful cropped fit and a reversible style that let’s you switch from a more  contrasted black/white ribbed style to a more incognito murdered out version. 100% rayon construction and knit collar and cuffs round out what make for an excellent piece. Available now at Haven.

With editorials, I prefer to see different brands are mixed together in creative ways. For FW15 Haven has chosen to highlight it’s Arc’Teryx Veilance selection by styling it together with pieces from likes of sacai, C.E, TAKAHIROMIYASHITA The SoloIst., Needles, OAMC, wings + horns, and Visvim. The juxtaposition of the minimal technical pieces against these different brands offers relatable and inspiring cold weather looks. If you’re looking for new ideas in regards to layering, this editorial is a must see. Check the full editorial after the jump.

Nexus VII and Stussy have teamed up for a capsule collection entitled ‘Rainy Dayz’. Previous collaborations between the two labels have resulted in some awesome outerwear and this joint venture follows in that pedigree. This gore-tex shell is a pullover-style combined with a fishtail design. Other key design elements include  sleeve snap button pocket, waist snap button pockets and contrast braided drawstrings. The piece comes in purple and black but it appears the black version has already completely sold out online.

One of the top shops in Canada Haven teamed up with fellow Canadian boot producers Viberg to create a capsule collection of 8 Hole Boots in 3 suede colorways. I like all of the models presented so I gotta say it’s a pretty difficult choice to pick which version I’d get.

The customized 8 Hole Service boot rests on top of a durable lightweight Vibram Moreflex sole. The 3 distinct uppers are comprised of a premium Calico Grey suede, and distinct Black Oil or Copper Task Rough Out leather. Additional details include a reinforced toe cap, contrast stitching, 2 sets of leather and round laces, smooth contrasting leather tongue, and a custom stamped insole.

These are available at Haven now for $700USD. If you missed it be sure to read my interview with the Brett and Guy from Viberg Boot.

Dialogue 08: A Conversation with Shinsuke Takizawa from HAVENSHOP on Vimeo.

Haven posted up this  dialogue with Shinsuke Takizawa. Footage from both of NBHD’s Tokyo brick & mortar stores is spliced in with an interview with the head of Neighborhood. Mr. Takizawa shares his personal viewpoints on design and how everything he does with the brand coincides with his lifestyle and long-time hobbies of rock and roll and motoring. I have noticed that all of my favorite designers tend to really pull from a very personal place. I believe it’s incredibly important for creatives to have blinders on at times and separate themselves from the influence of industry trends.
