Nike Sportswear EXP-X14 Sneaker

Nike has really invested in their tech-friendly running offerings with the Zoom Fly and Epic React models. The latest shoe in the same vein is the new EXP-X14, a futuristic-looking sneaker that was first unveiled last week.

Nodding to Nike’s rich running heritage while still pushing the envelope of technology, the EXP-X14’s translucent upper is an upgrade from the retro Nike Zoom Drive, a running silhouette from the mid 90s. The midsole boasts an exposed yellow TPU plate and a slim heel design that nod to the ultra-fast Zoom Vaporfly 4%. Even the shoe’s name is packed full of Nike lore, as “EXP” is short for experiment, and X14 is the original internal Nike code name for React cushioning technology, which appears in the shoe’s midsole. Other details on the sneaker include a medial side screen print that represent the legendary Steve Prefontaine’s fastest time in the mile—3 minutes and 54.6 seconds. The shoe also visibly includes  bold Flywire cables and a unique high heel design.

The shoe is set to release in three colorways (blue/volt, rose gold/gold and black/red) all with bright and bold accents on June 28th in Europe via the SNKRS app before rolling out to North America and Greater China July 5th via SNKRS and Nike. Enjoy a set of images for the futuristic shoes below, and let us know what you think of the continued modern-day fusion of lifestyle and performance silhouettes.
