Sophnet Fall/Winter 2015 Lookbook

Sophnet has amazingly been able to stay under the radar while delivering season after season of quality product. While the brand’s aesthetic is far from classy, it is assertive in it’s vision and place in the market. Coming out of the golden era of Japanese streetwear (think BAPE, UC, WTAPS and Neighborhood) Sophnet is a grown man’s update on the same solid street essentials). Just look to key pieces here like that workwear take on a baseball jacket or some of the banging outerwear (the fishtail parka and funnel neck jacket come to mind) to see what the fall collection is all about.

Hit the brand’s site for more info.

Air Max 95 Neon OG and ID

The Air Max 95 just celebrated it’s 20th birthday. The venerable sneaker was a drastic deparature from the Air Max lineage (designed by Tinker Hatfield). The designer Sergio Lozano took the sneaker in a bold new direction, inspired by the rib cage of the human body. The original is now back in a quality retro (retailing at $170). With so many 95’s using different materials, I still think that the original suede version looks the best. Find the neons at Nike, Foot Locker and Finish Line.

If you’re looking for something new entirely, the 95 is also available as a Nike iD.

Visvim Hockney

I’ve spent most my life firmly in the anti-boat shoe camp. The shoe conjures up images of frat parties and business casual conferences at the local Howard Johnson, but leave it up to Visvim to upgrade this prep staple into something more than the sum of it’s parts. These deserve to be on the deck of a … Read more

Engineered Garments SS16

Being one of the few men’s brands that is still made  in New York City, Engineered Garments stands independently in both it’s production and outlook. Beyond the clothes themselves, a notable aspect of this latest lookbook for the spring/summer 2016 are the casting choices. A testament to the versatility of the clothing, EG has always been about updating classic American vintage with a twist and this lookbook shows just how versatile some of the pieces are no matter your personal style. Standout pieces include an elongated Chester coat, olive BDU, and plenty of great prints on shirting, outerwear and shorts.
