Foot the Coacher x The Soloist Sneakers

Somehow I missed the previous Foot the Coacher x the Soloist sneakers. Despite the highly questionable brand name, these sneakers take inspiration from vintage models and really stand out as a well done collaboration. There are elements of Takahiro’s design signatures , such as the asystmtrical lacing system. High quality suede, leather and mesh sit atop of Vibram soles.

Available now at Beams retailing ¥39,960.

Undercover Spring/Summer 2015

Undercover Leather Cow-Hide Biker Jacket It’s been quite difficult historically to pick up Undercover pieces from shops in the US or Europe. If you got a hole burning in your wallet you’ll be happy to know that a decent selection of first delivery items have hit UK based END Clothing. The Spring/Summer 2015 collection is inspired … Read more

Best Items from Supreme SS15

Supreme has it’s seasonal launches down to a science at this point. The routine goes as follows they close the store before the start of a new season, put up an annual advertising program (this time with Neil Young outfitted in a box logo) and then they release a preview of what pieces are to come this Spring/Summer 2015. Supreme has transcended skateboarding and streetwear to become a ubiquitous New York brand; one that you’re bound to see countless times walking around downtown Manhattan.

I’ve gone through the preview and filtered down to what I think are the standout items. Of course there hasn’t been any leaks of the collaborations to come this season, but it has been confirmed that we should be seeing a Undercover x Supreme collaboration quite soon.

See my personal picks from the SS15 collection.

Supreme Reversible Cotton MA-1

The market has been filled with good variations on the MA-1 bomber and I like that this reversible cotton version keeps it straight to the point. A decent departure from the usual nylon fabrication, the jacket can be worn plenty of ways and should pair well with typical streetwear staples.

Supreme x Schott A-2 Leather Jacket

The Schott collaboration has become an annual thing at this point and this A-2 bomber should provide a slimmer fit than repro brands and a cheaper pricepoint than higher end Japanese labels.

Supreme Terry Football Top

While it’s hard to recall burning temps in the middle of a frigid Febuary, terry cloth will be a welcome fabric come July.

Visvim Fall/Winter 2015 Collection Preview

Visvim hosted a showroom of sorts to present it’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection to press and buyers in town for New York Fashion Week. The serene space was a contrast to the hustle of other runway shows this week, and with no audible music, models or other distractions the attention fell upon what really mattered, the product itself.

Split between men’s and women’s each rack was separated by category, shirting, jackets , pants and accessories/shoes. One of the most exciting developments was the addition of MA-1 bomber jackets, some embroidered with flag details as seen below. Other field jackets were adorned with hand-illustrated graphics or embroidered patches. The footwear were mostly returning styles of boots and sneakers with the addition of a new minimal stan-smith inspired model. There’s definetly strong styles in here that are worthy additions for Visvim collections and the outerwear in particular represents a return to form in comparison to recent collections.

Third Looks Editorial ‘Projections’ feat. EYES&SINS

This editorial was the result of a collaborative effort between Third Looks and EYES & SINS. As I’ve previously noted, EYES & SINS is a brand which relies on a potent graphical narrative with each collection (also reflected in every pixel of their web presence – from the interactive website to promotional animated shorts on social media).

Billy Fischer pieced together these moving images from various EYES & SINS pieces modeled over a contrasting projection of visuals from past  DWMS events (by Note PTP) to further delineate the brand’s graphical cyber-militaria design approach.
