EYES & SINS ‘PROTOTYPE ZERO’ LOOKBOOK

After a brief quiet spell, EYES & SINS returns with an immaculate outerwear line ‘PROTOTYPE-ZERO / 零式’.
The small range is a logical evolution from the graphic tees released in the past. The line once again draws inspiration from military items, utilizing details such as buckles/fasteners and multifunctional compartments that contribute to both the form and functionality of the garments.

This is an impressive first foray into more elaborate items from the GFIRMG family. The 「14F-ES-JM01」RE-REPRODUCTION 01 BOMBER (see the Third Looks Best MA-1 Feature) has some great details including Articular sleeves, darting/stitching details and numberous functional zippers and pockets that should help users carry around daily essentials. Also of note is the 「14F-ES-AV01」ENGRAM MULTI-CHAMBER
which operates as a vest with multiple Pockets / compartments.

Three of the items are available now online with more to drop soon. Looking forward to seeing more on the trench and pants in the collection personally. I’m excited to see the GFIRMG team transition from leather goods to graphic tees and now a full fledged cohesive collection.

C.E SS15 Video Presentation

In past interviews, C.E brand founders Sk8thing and Toby Feltwell stated that they saw themselves as outside the traditional fashion system in Japan, so it’s not surprising that their presentation for their Spring/Summer 2015 felt more like an subterranean nightclub than a runway show. Backed by a DJ set by Rezzett and eye-grabbing visuals by Bacon , the … Read more

Third Looks Mix 005 – owwwls

Today I’m excited to bring back the Third Looks mix from Brooklyn based DJ and producer owwwls. He recently collaborated with Princess Nokia‘s on her debut mixtape  ‘Metallic Butterfly’ and has recorded a uptempo soundtrack filled with underground club music.

For a better idea of what to expect, I asked owwwls to intro the mix

This mix closely reflects my current club music influences. Wanted to put something together hard hitting and atmospheric, with influences of RnB, Trap, and New Bass/Garage, with some Kawaii and Big Room elements.

You can find owwwls on twitter and soundcloud.

Facetasm SS15 Collection

Japanese label Facetasm showed their Spring/Summer 2015 collection at Tokyo Fashion week. The label is known for it’s wild takes on streetwear with exaggerated color palettes and shapes.  Designer Hiromichi Ochiai wanted to achieve a balance between ‘dressing up and dressing down’ for this fashion week outing and he is successful in  blending a mix of wilder pieces with more basic items that regular guys can feel comfortable adding to their closets.

Much of the styling here plays around the length of garments, with many looks featuring several different lengths overtop slim tapered pants or baggy more playful shorts. If you found past Facetasm collections a bit too intimidating to wear but still had an appreciation for the aesthetic of the brand , you should be able to find more low-key items this time around. On the contrary if you are looking for the wild and crazy stuff there’s plenty of it here including crossed lapel tuxedos and wide ponchos.

If you are fiending for current season product you can find it at over at H.Lorenzo.

TheSoloist SS15 Lookbook

Through his design career, Takahiro Miyashita has returned to Western motifs time and again. It seems he’s also simplified many of his designs to key silhouettes and patterns. Gone are some of the more ornate details of older Soloist collections and personally I feel they are a bit missed here. On the positive side, the selection of light outerwear, oversized shirting and denim found in the Spring/Summer collection should be easy to incorporate into your wardrobe.
