Uniform Experiment FW14 Collection Lookbook

Under the Sophnet umbrella Uniform Experiment has been releasing novel twists on men’s classics since the brand’s inception. The Japanese label puts out a mix of both dressed up gear and more casual streetwear for their Fall/Winter 2014 collection. The looks found in the collection are blends military/sreetwear inspired looks with more tailored trousers and shirting. The simple styling really allows us to see the gear clearly, and emphasizes some of the more exciting pieces such as the above blazer/ma-1 hybrid. Look for the collection at END and Haven See the rest of the looks after the jump.

Sophnet FW14 Collection Lookbook

We posted the collection video a few days back, now comes the full photo lookbook. Sophnet really slays this collection in all aspects: styling, presentation and the pieces themselves. Plenty of awesome looks here with the outerwear stealing the show in my opinion. A great varsity, vest and an awesome version of what appears to be a down filled parka. Sophnet continues to deliver in time for colder weather and I can’t wait to see or even grab some of these pieces myself. Don’t own any Soph right now but I figure that will change in the very near future. If you’re looking for a North American stockist, check Haven which should have a selection of FW14. Sophnet continues to hit that perfect balance of refined streetwear that so many brands are trying (and often failing) to reach.

Nonnative AW14 Collection

Nonnative released images of their AW14 collection today.  The reliable japanese label outdoes their respectable spring collection with some great cold weather coats and several well thought out complete looks. I enjoyed the  monochromatic styling which pops up throughout the collection . Nonnative doesn’t strive too far outside the comfort zone for most men but it has presented some solid pieces here that should be worth investing come Fall. For a brand taking on men’s staples it’s nice to see that they’ve considered usability and made items that are stand above the typical lame basics that countless brands are currently churning out.   See more on their website and all the looks after the jump.

4dimension Autumn/Winter 2014 Collection ‘Big Data’

4dimension may not be a familiar brand outside of Asia but the brand has been growing a niche audience from it’s home base of Taipei. The Taiwanese label was launched in 2013 and recently released images of its Autumn/Winter 2014 Collection ‘Big Data. The collection is inspired by duality of our public online and offline personas in the current hyper-connected digital age.

The collection has a utilitarian mix of greyscale technical garments and accessories. While many brands are making currently pushing a similar techninja aesthetic, I do appreciate the amount of restraint shown in the product design. You can grab one of these pieces and easily work into many different looks.  I’m particularly interested in the trousers and outerwear from this collection which I feel are some of the standouts. It’s also a nice touch that the footwear choices in the lookbook are on point ranging everything from Air Maxes to Rick Owens Adidas.

While there’s nothing in here that comes out of left field , the pricing seems to be reasonable given the fit and apparent quality of the garments. I haven’t had the chance to handle them in person so I can’t vouch for the durability and feel of the garments but it seems like 4dimension is worth investing in and at the very least keeping an eye on from here on out.  You can shop the SS14 collection (including sale items) on their international order friendly webstore. See all the looks after the jump.

Wacko Maria x GRIND Magazine SS14 Editorial

Wacko Maria is quickly becoming one of my favorite emerging Japanese labels. When I seen the Wacko Marias clothes I see the influence of  brands like Fuct, WTAPS, and Neighborhood but the brand does have a DNA that is very much it’s own. GRIND Magazine brought these Spring/Summer 2014 pieces to life with an editorial that’s has a strong cinematic look and feel.

Damir Doma Silent SS15

Damir Doma has quietly built himself a fashion empire that topped over 9 million euros in sales in 2013. Silent (which launched in 2010) is ostensibly a diffusion line which offers moderately priced basics such as t-shirts, hoodies and denim. The spring/summer 2014 men’s collection marks a bit of departure from the brand as it embraces  minimalism and some of the trends commonplace in menswear today: oversized graphic t-shirts, sweatpants.

That being said there is something refreshing about this line with it’s unique color palette: pastels and khakis done Damir’s way mixed with black/white and grey.  I also appreciate the inclusion of both oversized and cropped summer outerwear overtop both slim shorts or baggier trousers and pants. While past collections of Silent were decidedly more bohemian (and more of a natural element to the materials), I like this cleaner direction for SS15 and I think there will be plenty of pieces worth picking up in it.
