Giveaway No.2: Fidelis Field Notebook

There’s something to be said about writing things down on paper. I sometimes jot down quick ideas on my phone but it is nowhere near as satisfying as using a good notebook and pen.  Fidelis Co founder Tim O’Neil reached out to me to introduce a new line of field notebooks he had designed. The differentiating aspect of these notebooks is that they come with a durable nearly-waterproof zipper outer which is made from Cordura 1000D (a material often used by the US Military). The notebook on the interior is a Rite-in-the-Rain pad which adds a second level of protection as the notebook is nearly waterproof.

One of the inspirations for designing the Fidelis line of products was Tim’s own experience as a Marine. The name Fidelis was actually taken from the United States Marine Corps motto Semper Fidelis or ‘Always Faithful’. Tim expands on this in his own words

It’s this focus on quality that is key to us–because believe me as Infantry Officer three months into a seven month deployment when you see your boots blow a seam or your notebook begins to disintegrate or your belt just not longer holds because of what you have already asked of it…all this gives you a perspective that above all you just want things to work when you need them and that is what we have sought to do with Fidelis Co.  Many (but not all) the products we carry are things that were inspired from my use of something simliar in the Marines.
